For more info - http://www.eagle-rock.com/artist/58EEE2/George+Thorogood+%26+The+Destroyers George Thorogood is an American icon. Together with his band The Destroyers he has become as much a part of American culture as the 4th of July, Moms apple pie or Rock n Roll itself. 2003 is the bands thirtieth anniversary and sees them in sparkling form. The new album, their first for Eagle Records, includes Thorogoods signature guitar licks and trademark vocals, ably backed by the Destroyers who play with passion and intensity. The title track is written by John Lee Hooker and there are also covers of tracks by Bo Diddley (You Dont Love Me, You Dont Care), Chuck Berry (Move It) and Eddie Cochran (My Way) alongside Thorogood originals. The album has been produced by Jim Gaines, who produced Santanas multi-Grammy award winning album Supernatural. Having concentrated his work in the USA for many years, Thorogood has made a conscious decision to push this album in Europe. He and the band will be coming over for a full tour in the autumn. Prior to that there is a gig to coincide with the launch of the album at Londons Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday March 29th preceded by an exclusive private gig at Abbey Road Studios on Thursday March 27th.
