http://www.FTV.com/videos NEW YORK - Tommy Hilfiger said he based both his men's and women's collections on the world of pop art. In this case, pop art and preppy wear combine, since as we all know, Tommy is one of the big boys in America when it comes to the true, classic sportswear. For this collection, Tommy pulled out all the stops in pop art--meaning he used every color he could including orange, turquoise, green, purple, and red, often in unique color combinatiosn in one garment. For sportswear, this meant cable knit sweaters of the preppy variety. There were also capes in 60s shape with a sense of Tommy red, white and blue streaming through them. We almost weren't sure where he was going with this one--was it supposed to be a patriotic collection? In the end, Tommy Hilfiger's signature American essence shined through even in the jumpsuits, granny sweaters, and caped jackets.
