Michael Jackson's security guard took the witness stand on the third day of the Conrad Murray trial. Alberto Alvarez told the court that Murray asked him to stash vials and observed a "milky white substance" in an IV bag. The testimony could potentially hurt Murray's case - making it seem as if the doctor was trying to cover up Jackson's propfol injections. The defense is making the claim that Jackson delivered the lethal does of the drug himself while Murray was out of the room. Murray faces up to 4 years in prison if convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Courtney Love, the hard-living rock star and actress known for her band Hole and for her brief marriage to Kurt Cobain, has a book deal with William Morrow. The publisher has announced that Love will "set the record straight." Her memoir will address life with Cobain, the Nirvana leader who died in 1994, her drug problems and her Hollywood career. Nirvana recently made headlines for the 20th anniversary of their album "Nevermind."
Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. was released from the federal halfway house in Atlanta where he finished up an 11-month sentence on weapons possession and drug charges. The 31-year-old Atlanta entertainer was assigned to the halfway house for the last month of his sentence after being released from federal prison in Arkansas. But shortly after arriving in Atlanta, the rapper was returned to a prison there because officials took issue with his luxury bus ride from Arkansas.
Singer Elton John opened his new Las Vegas act at Caesars Palace on Wednesday (September 28), tickling the ivories on his new "million dollar piano" nicknamed Blossom that lit up to reflect the mood of each song. "The Million Dollar Piano" show marks the beginning John's three-year residency at Caesars' theater, The Colosseum, and Wednesday's performance was the first of 16 shows scheduled through October. A second series begins in February.
