These are the fruits linked to the deaths of 13 Americans.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, another 72 people are infected with listeria in 18 states, including two pregnant women.
Health officials have traced the source of the outbreak to cantaloupes grown by Jensen Farms in Colorado.
Tammie Palmer witnessed the moment her husband fell ill.

"I said are you ok? And his eyes just started rolling back in his head and he just started going to lay back down and I went over and started patting his face and I'm like Chuck what's wrong? Talk to me now or I'm gonna call an ambulance. He couldn't talk or anything so that's when I called 9-1-1."
Another victim says she was hospitalized for three weeks after eating the fruit.

"I spent about three weeks altogether in the hospital and a care center where they had to infuse me with every six hours."
Such outbreaks are far more common in processed meats and cheeses, and it is not yet clear how listeria bacteria got into the fruit.
