A Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday, and charged with plotting an attack on the Pentagon and the Capitol building using remote-controlled aircraft fitted with explosives.
According to FBI agents, the 26-year-old U.S. citizen had planned to load six-foot-long remote controlled planes with C-4 plastic explosives, and fly them via GPS.
He revealed his plan to undercover agents posing as al-Qaeda operatives, saying he intended to blow the dome of the Capitol "to smithereens".
The air assault was to be followed by a ground attack by six people, including himself, armed with AK-47 assault rifles.
One of the man's neighbors says he's shocked.

"I was close to his brother, his parents are vice nice people and I never… it blew me away."
But the plan never went through.
He had no money to buy the planes or the explosives.
The undercover agents provided him with what he thought were explosives, but they turned out to be inert.
