Hundreds of Afghans carry former President Burhanuddin Rabbani's body to its final resting place in the capital.
Afghanistan's chief negotiator was killed this week by a suicide bomber posing as a Taliban envoy.
Streets were blocked off as mourners chanted and sought to touch the coffin.
His death has reignited simmering ethnic tensions and stirred fears of retribution.
Among the mourners was Rabbani protege and opposition leader Abdullah Abdullah.

"We buried our honorable leader. We buried our honorable martyred leader, Rabbani, but we will not keep silent."
Opposition figures blame President Hamid Karzai for his death, claiming Kazai ordered Rabbani to meet with the bomber.
Karzai's office denies the accusation.
