Commonly Overlooked Changes With a Puppy - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. What most people see when they think 'puppy' is cute, adorable, fluffy-rolly, just love all the time. No. Puppies are chaos in a fur suit and it is really, really important that you just understand what you are getting yourself into. People underestimate the entire process. It is expensive. A lot of people do not consider how expensive it is because you want to make sure that you invest now so that you do not pay for a whole new couch later. You want to make sure your puppy has all the right nutrition and getting them activity and exercise and making sure if you do not have time for your puppy, you pay, so your puppy has quality time with other dogs or other people. Another thing that people do not consider is their own time investment. You want to go to a training class. You want to spend one on one time with your puppy and you need to be able to commit to that. You do not just automatically communicate with your puppy. You have to learn what makes them tick so you can teach them to live in your world. And if you do not spend that time, you are going to have a puppy that does not understand any of human rules and that may be something that you end up deciding not to do. So people have to think about what are the implications. When I get my puppy, I am going to have to devote this much time to this effort. And the more you do now, the more smooth sailing it would be down the road.
