This Friday, 2nd September, public voting opens for the final 22 projects -- including OPAL (Open Air Laboratories project), nationwide, filmed in Birmingham which is competing for Best Environment Project
Open Air Laboratories project (OPAL) works all over England to get everyone involved in nature. Through a range of national and regional initiatives, the project aims to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to get outside and explore their local environment. In doing so, it brings communities, scientists and nature enthusiasts together.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, the project has been able to go to every corner of the country, discovering local wildlife with local people and get to know local communities in some of the most deprived areas to help people discover nature that's on their doorstep.
