With the introduction of new Top Level Domains (new TLD’s) we see a huge opportunity for innovation and Big Room’s vision for .eco is to create an open global platform for people to share their information on sustainability.
.eco will be a new TLD just like .com, .mobi or .info and the question for us has always been how do we make sure that .eco is a useful addition to the Internet.
There were really two reasons why we went to Afilias with this idea.
One was their phenomenal reputation. They have experience in delivering new TLD’s successfully. They are stable and they have the technical competence to do it.
The other was an excellent fit. They understood what we were trying to achieve with .eco and they have been very engaged in helping us develop the model and ensure that .eco is successful.
