Locomotion, activity, and physical function are really important things for a good quality of life. When a hip joint, a weight-bearing joint, a lower limb joint, becomes painful it can take a really big bite out of your ability to enjoy a quality of life. Some problems simply can’t be fixed in the sense that the condition can only be remedied by a prosthetic replacement rather than a surgical repair. In the context of a painful, arthritic, or degenerative joint, we fortunately now have a pretty good solution to hip replacement.
