Bennie Krueger & His Orchestra - Sheltered By The Stars

Not much is known about Krueger (1899-1967). He was an American alto and tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. He is best remembered for his recordings with the Original Dixieland Jazz Band (1920–21). From the mid-1920s he worked for radio stations as a bandleader and engaged musicians for broadcasts; during the 1930s he was the music director for the singer Rudy Vallée. He recorded with Bing Crosby in 1931 and 1932. This wonderful song, which I dedicate as a support to my friends and viewers on the American East Cost, presently suffering from hurricane Irene, was recorded in 1932. Vocal by Paul Small.
