In Lu County, located southwest China's Sichuan Province, a forest fire that burned more than 16 acres of forest on Wednesday has been brought under control.
The fire broke out at about 11:00am local time on Wednesday morning. The flames spread due to a drought in the region, as well as high temperatures.
By 7:30 in the evening, part of the fire had been brought under control.
But the fire became even more fierce with stronger winds in the town of Shiqiao by 10pm Wednesday night.
Forest police are now investigating the cause of the blaze.
