Jewelry Making: How to Make Earrings with African Theme - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. In front of me right now I have a little horn charm that maybe, I have gotten on travels, a lot of times people go traveling and they come home with a piece, so this kind of represents that right now. And I have a little found elephant charm, I am going to pair up with it. So what I am going to do is I am going to use my needlenose pliars to attach the charms all together. So I am going to open the jump rings, attach it to the charm, and on to the chain, and close it in combination of tools. And I am going to go in and I am going to open this earring findinig I only need one tool this time around. It is important to be careful when you open these things because sometimes with these type of earring hooks if you open it too much you are going to break the bail on there. A lot of these base metal ones are very brittle you want to just open it as minimally as you can. You are going to slide the other end of that chain into that opening, and you are going to use the tool to close it up. And you want to make sure you really close it up because if you do not close it up all the way the chain could slip out of the hole. Here I have a little elephant that I am going to place right on the top and we want to make sure that the elephant is facing the right direction. So when you attach the elephant to the chain you really want to pay attention to where on the chain it is going to place because if you put it on there wrong, it is going to be backwards. So when you wear the earrings, the elephant may be facing back. So I am really looking where I am putting it. Closing the jump ring, and with 3 simple actions, I have made myself a really nice earring, and here I already have one made so you can see the sweet little pair of African earrings.
