Thousands of taxi drivers that had gone on strike on Monday in China's eastern city of Hangzhou returned to work on Wednesday.
The taxi drivers decided to end the strike after Authorities agreed to offer them subsidies and increase fares by October.
But, not all striking cabbies have gone back to work. Some drivers are calling on authorities to raise fares immediately.
[Mr. Li, Taxi Driver]:
"The increase of 16 cents for each ride is quite favorable but the thing is that we still have to wait too long for them to increase the taxi fares. We still feel it is quite unreasonable. Most of us taxi drivers think that it is taking them too long to react."
Other city authorities have increased taxi fares recently—with Shanghai raising its fares by 31 cents last month.
Strikes by taxi drivers in China are becoming more frequent as higher costs pinch profits for drivers.
