Luxury Weddings and Catering: Choosing Number of Courses - as part of the Wedding series by GeoBeats. One of the really important aspects of the evening is you need to remember how fast the evening goes. It seems like six hours is going to last forever. It goes very very quickly. So the important thing is to have all of the people that are involved in your wedding as far as musicians and your caterer, have to be really mindful and really respective of how quickly the night goes. Neither one of us should be the ones that are monopolizing the time. So be it a tasting dinner with four or five courses, it is best to do that up front and then save a lot of your dancing for later on in the evening. Or if it is a more traditional dinner I think three courses, including dessert, is probably the way to go because you want each course to be filling and satisfying but you want to have enough time for the guests to get up and have really good dance sets without chopping up the event so it is not, now I am starting to dance, but now I am being called back to dinner. You really want this to be a nice smooth flow where it is time to move on to the next stage of the wedding.
