Blender Do's and Don'ts - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Hi I am Oron Franco from The Private Chef NYC and today we are going to go over a few tips about blending. Now, if you are going to blend something, be sure to separate your solids from your liquids. Start off with your solids and pulse them. What pulsing does is it allows the solids to fall back onto the plate to make a smooth puree. After you are done pulsing, you want to add your liquids, there are two ways to go about it. The safest way is to just turn off your blender, open the top, put in your liquid. This is good if you are making drinks like margaritas or some smoothies or something like that. Add in your liquid or anything else you want to add after you have pureed your solids, put the lid back on and turn it on. If you must add a liquid while the blender is working, like if you are making a vinaigrette, or any kind of sauces, be sure to have a blender with a small cap that you can take off, so you do not accidentally put your hand in there, or maybe a spoon or a spatula because you do not want to find those things in your sauce when it is done. Those are some basic tips about working with a blender.
