About 4,000 taxi drivers went on strike on Monday in China's eastern city of Hangzhou. They are protesting soaring fuel prices and traffic congestion.

According to AFP, anonymous calls on the Internet say the Hangzhou strike could last three days.

And in Shanghai, drivers from one of the city's smaller taxi companies, Fuxin, protested over not having retirement benefits. The company says it's negotiating with the drivers.
