http://palmettotreeservice.org Sadly, a large, majestic live oak tree had to be removed in Mount Pleasant, SC. As shown in the video, the live oak had split near the base. An attempt had been made a few years ago to save the tree using cables to hold the main branch areas together. This worked for a while, however the tree was becoming unsafe. Additionally, you can see in one part of the video that the live oak base was mostly hollow. Removal of this Mt Pleasant live oak was done in stages, working from the ends of each branch. Larger portions were dropped using ropes to lower them. A small clip within the video shows one of the Palmetto Tree service workers conducting tree trimming and pruning by hand.
