"Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was started at sharp 07:30 am on the 21st november 2010. Around 30,000 runners participated in the race to run which was about 21kms. The Delhi Half-Marathon, which is in its sixth year, has been awarded the prestigious gold label, an honour that only six half-marathons in the world enjoy. The marathon is an IAAF 'Gold Label' event and the Bollywood star Bipasha Basu was the 'Face of Event'. The marathon was launched in the presence of Hugh Jones, General Secretary of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and a member of the IAAF Road Running Commission. It is the world's richest half marathon with a prize money of $ 210,000. Ten thousand running spaces was reserved for the Half Marathon category, while the other categories include the Great Delhi Run, the Senior Citizen's Run and the Wheelchair Event. Gul Panag, Bipasha Basu,Arshad Warsi,Rahul Bose, Urmila Matondkar and Dhanraj Pillai were also present at the event but they shied away from the crowd a bit.
