Jackal + excellent Corbett National Park forest habitat

2011-07-18 440

"Excellent sub-Himalayan terai forest within Corbett National Park, with the Ramganga river flowing through it. As seen from the area near High Bank, with a jackal skulking around. In India, Hindus traditionally considered the hunting of wolves, even dangerous ones as taboo, for fear of causing a bad harvest. The Santals however considered them fair game, as with every other forest dwelling animal.
