ORIGIN
Levator scapulae originates from the transverse processes of the atlas and axis, and the posterior tubercles of the transverse processes of the third and fourth cervical posterior vertebrae.
INSERTION
Levator scapulae inserts into the medial scapular border between its superior angle and the medial end of the scapular spine.
VARIATIONS
