In Peru, a search and rescue team finds the body of a Polish mountain climber. The man fell into a crevice in the ice of a Peruvian mountain, and was carried away by an avalanche.

A Peruvian search and rescue team found the body of 26-year-old mountaineer Marcin Szklarcyk on Wednesday.

He had fallen through cracks in the ice.

The mountain climber was on Peru's Alpomayo Mountain in the Andean Cordillera Blanca.

That's Spanish for "White Range."

The Alpomayo Mountain is 19,180 feet high.

He fell to his death and was carried away in an avalanche.

The search and rescue team hiked up the mountain searching for signs of the missing climber and finally found him.

Police in nearby Huaraz confirmed his identity.

Rescue workers will return to the summit to retrieve the body.

Once it is recovered the body will be flown to Poland.
