Tai Chi: Fair Lady and the Shuttle - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats. Hello, my name is Tiffany Chen, I am from William C. C. Chen's Tai Chi Chuan. I am going to do Fair Lady at the Shuttle with you today. Turn to the left. Get into a position we call “Single Whip”. Left leg in front, right leg behind. Eighty percent of the weight in the left leg, and twenty percent in the right leg. Left palm open up in front of you, right arm extends at the side, gently bent at the elbow and fingers hooked around the thumb. I am going to have you shift your weight back into the right leg, and as you do so you move away from the left palm. With the weight in the right leg now, the right leg pulls in the left side, so you are pigeon-toed, and now as you shift the weight over into the left leg, the right arm crosses over the left arm. And now the left side is going to spin open the right side on the heel of the right foot and as that happens the palms open up and form a “T” position, with the left hand at the top of the “T” and the right palm at the bottom. Shift the weight into the right leg, step through with the left. Now, shift into the left leg, and we are going to turn in, and turn out the palms. This completes the segment.
