"Spotted deer is also known as Cheetal or Axis Deer. It is the most common deer species in Indian forests. The chital's coat is reddish fawn, marked with white spots, and its underparts are white. The spotted deer is found in large numbers in dense deciduous or semi-evergreen forests and open grasslands.
