What are the Popular Toppers for Wedding Cakes - as part of the wedding series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I'm Angie Jiles of Blue Note Bakery in Austin, Texas. There are all kinds of different toppers you can use for a wedding cake. There's the more traditional which is the Bride and Groom, made of porcelain that you can put on top, kind of what your Grandma used to use. The next kind of option is the monogram, that's become really popular lately. It's usually made with metal, with little Swarovski crystals all over it to make it sparkle and bling. And then our favorite is to make a little cartoon versions of the Bride and Groom to put on top of that googly eyes. So they're made out of sugar, its gum paste, which means you can actually bite your husband's head off if you want to.
But, you know, you go more for what fits your style and your, the whole feel of your wedding. There are so many options out there. You can go online or you can talk to your baker and see what they can do for you.
