Take a tour of Wismar Market Square in Wismar, Germany – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. The Market Square of Wismar is a beautiful, open space and the largest square in Germany. The center of the square is dominated by the Wasserkunst, a large and ornately decorated fountain. It was built out of iron and brought from Holland at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The market square is a reminder of Wismar's historic status as a successful member of the trade-oriented Hanseatic League. Beautiful, colored buildings can still be seen here. Also occupying a space in the square is an old warehouse, called the "Old Swede", left over from the days when Sweden owned the city.
