On Thursday 31st March 2011, at the UK finals of the prestigious Triumph Inspiration Award, hosted by Europe's leading showgirl Immodesty Blaize, student designer Emma Walters from Leicester was named the winner of the award for the UK with her design Liberation. Chloe King of Leicester took second place with design The Silhouette of Ascendancy and Basma Masri of Surrey and Pim Bencharit of Leicester came in joint third place with the designs Tribal Heritage and Soft Cage respectively.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Triumph Inspiration Award contest saw 20 fashion student finalists, 10 from the London College of Fashion and 10 from De Montfort University in Leicester go head to head by designing a 'catwalk showpiece' to represent the theme "125 Years of Celebrating Women".
Judges Jameela Jamil, Charlotte Stockdale, Angela Buttolph, German design duo Felder Felder and Triumph UK's Product Manager Jane Fenlon-Smith, had the task of selecting the winner and two runners up.
