Google on Monday accused the Chinese regime of interfering with their email service—Gmail. The California-based company says users in China have complained of email malfunctions for the past few weeks.
Google told us in a statement that they've checked extensively—and it's not an ordinary technical problem. They told us that, quote, "This is a [Chinese] government blockage carefully designed to look like the problem is with Gmail."
It's not the first time Google's had problems in China. In early 2010, Google complained that the Chinese regime was behind sophisticated cyber attacks on Google's computer systems. That—along with the company's discontent over Chinese censorship—prompted Google to shut down its China-based search engine.
