Take a tour of Hôtel de Ville in Paris, France – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. It is one of the most important buildings in Paris, though not as well known as other attractions. Paris's Hotel de Ville is actually no hotel at all, but the city hall. This renaissance building is the office of the mayor and the city's administration. The building was completed in 1628, 75 years after King Francis the first conceived of the idea. In 1871, the entire structure was burnt by the revolutionaries, leaving only the exterior still intact. Nearly twenty years of reconstruction restored the Hotel de Ville's exterior and redid the interior.
