How to Make a Moscow Mule - part of the exotic cocktails video series by GeoBeats. Hi I'm Scott Mayer. I'm the mixologist here at Miami's oldest bar in Cabaret, Tobacco Road. So we're going to ahead and do a Moscow Mule. This drink was developed in the 1950's. Vodka wasn't really readily available in United States until the 1950's when Pierre Smirnoff started making Smirnoff vodka from France and started selling it on the American market. So one of the, one the drinks that they've put together to sell vodka in the United States was the Moscow Mule. This is a great cocktail. Starts off with a little bit of vodka, about an ounce and a half, the juice of half a lime. We go ahead and ice that down, and we top that with just a touch of ginger beer, which is, even though despite the name, ginger beer is completely non-alcoholic. It's a nice spicy ginger soda. Go ahead and throw a straw in there. And there you have it, the Moscow Mule.
