Shen Yun Performing Arts has impressed a Chinese student in Clermont-Ferrand who not long ago left the Mainland. He says the show uplifted his spirit. Let's take a look.

Mr. Chin, a psychology student from Mainland China, is in France studying for one year. He saw Shen Yun Performing Arts in Clermont-Ferrand, and commented on the show.

[Mr. Chin, Psychology Student]:
"I think this performance is very brilliant. It really represents traditional Chinese culture. Furthermore all the performers do what they need to do. I like it a lot."

Shen Yun presents 5000 years of Chinese culture, through Chinese classical dance.

[Mr. Chin, Psychology Student]:
"Some of the popular stuff today— a lot of unnatural elements are mixed in, because a lot of performances mix in too many commercial things, or other sorts of things. So that type of performance would become not too authentic. But my personal feeling is, like this classical performance, it has a really Chinese appeal, there's nothing else in there. It gives people this completely artistic feeling."

He said the show is soothing; unlike loud music which can give people an uncomfortable feeling.

[Mr. Chin, Psychology Student]:
"For me, I prefer this type of gentle, quiet, it gives people a kind of soul-uplifting feeling. This kind of culture, I feel this is the genuine Chinese classical culture."
