The Duchess of Cornwall has made a cameo appearance on BBC Radio 4's The Archers.
Camilla appeared as herself in her role as president of the National Osteoporosis Society, discussing the pains of the health condition and giving her royal approval to shortbread made by fictional chef Ian Craig.
In the pre-recorded scene, the Duchess sympathises with Caroline Sterling, the owner of Grey Gables, over the ill health of her uncle, saying: "Poor man. Not many people realise that men are affected by osteoporosis as well as women. Is he in a lot of pain? "
After having tea with Caroline, played by Sara Coward, Camilla praised the catering efforts, saying: "The shortbread was delicious."
She then asked to meet the chef, telling him: "So you're the genius with the shortbread", adding: "It was perfect, but the diet starts tomorrow!"
The scene, which lasted more than two minutes, was reported to have been recorded at Clarence House before Christmas.
