Rihanna has reportedly agreed to have the restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown lifted in time for the Grammy Awards.

Brown assaulted Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammys, and was ordered to not come within 100 yards of the Barbadian singer, or ten yards if they were at the same industry event.

As both parties are expected to attend this years awards, it is believed that the singer asked for the adjustment to make things easier for the event.

The Only Girl In The World singer has apparently asked for the protective order to be dropped to a level one, meaning that they can now legally contact each other, but has made it on the provision that he does not harass or molest her.

As part of his guilty plea in 2009, Brown has completed a year-long domestic violence counselling programme.

He will still remain on probation for five years, and will have to return to court once Rihanna's legal team have decided whether they object to the lifting of the restraining order.

Rihanna has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, five of them are ironically linked to her collaboration with Eminem on Love the Way You Lie, a track that talks about domestic abuse.
