The protest in Bangkok extends to its third day. Key members of the "yellow shirts" consider setting a deadline for the Thai government to revoke the border agreement.

The protest by the "yellow shirts" on the streets of Bangkok extended to its third day on Thursday.

Also known as the People's Alliance for Democracy, or PAD, the group says it's considering giving the Thai government a deadline to revoke a controversial border agreement with Cambodia.

The PAD is backing a campaign that wants Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to revoke a 2000 Memorandum of Understanding with Cambodia.

The agreement helped settle a long-running dispute over demarcation of the shared border with Cambodia.

[Praphan Koonmee, Member, People's Alliance for Democracy]:
"We are considering giving the government a deadline to respond to our demands. We have given them our demand and they need to give us feedback. Otherwise, we will consider elevating our fight."

Protesters closed the entire road surrounding government buildings... hundreds stayed overnight at the rally site.

Abhisit has refused to revoke the Memorandum of Understanding, saying it would endanger ties between the countries and could lead to conflict between troops stationed on the militarized border.

The protesters say Abhisit has been weak on the issue and accuse him of being a traitor for failing to evict Cambodian settlers from a disputed border area.
