This is a very rarely heard but fabulous Mexican band led by Eduardo Vigil y Robles, (?-1973) who in the early 20th century played a crucial role in "Mexicanization" of revue and musical. In the 20's he recorded quite a few sides for the Victor company and established the Orquesta Internacional, which he usually conducted. In 1935 he founded the Victor Mexicana company branch. Composer Genaro Monreal (1894-1974) was a successful Spanish songwriter. He began his career as an arranger and flute player at Madrid theater orchestras and would compose dozens of songs which would become popular standards in Spanish repertoire and even worldwide. This brilliant recording was made around 1927. It's interesting to see how even today, the hotel maintains an exquisite tradition of afternoon tea (http://www.ritzmadrid.com/web/orit/lobby_bar.jsp)
