Tourists are enjoying the snow and skiing facilities in one city in northern India. The world class skiing facilities seem to be the highlight attraction of the city.

Tourists are heading to India's northern Uttarakhand state to enjoy the snow-capped mountains as well as the world-class skiing facilities of Auli City.

Auli is growing as a major tourist spot due to initiatives taken by the state government in making the city a winter sports hub.

Auli hosted the South Asian Winter Games recently that ended on Sunday. Skiers were highly impressed by the infrastructure and ski slopes.

[Lakshmi Lal Shah, Local]:
"People from across India and the world are visiting Auli. We believe that the skiing slope in Auli is one of the best in the world; the technical experts have said so too. The slope can be said to be better than Switzerland's too. The tourists coming in will be attracted by it. The snow is also a huge attraction."

[Reena Arya, Tourist]:
"The snow here is beautiful. It's like being in Switzerland."

Tourists were seen having snowball fights and making snowmen.

They also enjoyed other activities like skiing, horse riding, hiking and trekking.
