A gas leak in a cold storage unit led to a massive fire in India's Kolkata City Monday. It took firefighters several hours to bring the blaze under control.
A massive fire broke out in a cold storage after a reported gas leak on Monday in India's Kolkata City.
[Bidhan Saha, Eyewitness]:
"This is a cold storage, the fire started here in the afternoon. There is no way of going inside; the fire fighters are putting water from the vacant house next to the cold storage. There are at least 15 firefighters here."
It took firefighters more than four hours to douse the flames.
Local media reported that the fire had also spread to the adjacent cotton warehouse, and locals were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
