The 28 year old singer received a card from the footballer wishing her all the best for 2011.
The X Factor judge divorced the footballer after 4 years of marriage in September, but the pair are reportedly still on amicable terms, and the Girls Aloud singer was touched by the gesture.
Cheryl has apparently decided to spend the festive season in the UK, much to the disappointment of dancer pal Derek Hough.
The dancer has allegedly sent her a pair of diamond earrings for Christmas, and is hoping she will join him in the US for the New Year instead.
