Russian specialty sports car manufacturer Marussia Motors has marked the start of production of the B1 and B2 models with the grand opening of their first showroom in Moscow.
First unveiled in late 2008, the B1's original design included a hybrid powerplant but has since been dropped. The second model is the jet fighter inspired B2. Both models featuring a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6 from Cosworth available in three power levels: 300, 360 ad 420 horsepower. Not the most powerful supercar around, but Marussia insists the power level is competitive given the weight of 1100 kg (2,425 lbs). This allows a sprint to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
