Hollywood star Hugh Jackman hurt his eye when he crashed in to a special episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in Sydney.
The planned stunt saw him abseil from the Sydney Opera House on to the stage, where the talkshow host was waiting, but the Wolverine actor applied the brakes too late and headed straight in to the lighting rig.
The Australian-actor escaped with just a cut to the eye, which later needed stitches, and joked: "That was so much fun until the end".
Oprah Winfrey invited over 300 fans from America to film two episodes in Australia for her final series.
Jackman was not the only Australian to be interviewed by the chat show host, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Olivia Newton John and the family of the late Steve Irwin also starred in the special edition, as did US rapper Jay-Z.
The Australian episodes of the The Oprah Winfrey Show will air in January 2011.
