The latest installment of the Chronicles of Narnia has knocked Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from it's position as number one in the UK box office.

The first part of the final story from the Harry Potter series had previously held the top spot for 3 weeks.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader took a total of £2.4 million in its first weekend.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader faces tough competition in the coming week though, with eagerly anticipated Tron: Legacy due for release, along with Christina Aguilera's debut feature film; Burlesque.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, staring Ben Barnes, is the third installment in the Narnia series.
