More Rain Expected in Australia's East Coast

Australia is preparing for more heavy rain on the weekend. Fast-rising floodwaters have killed at least four people on Friday.

At least four people in eastern Australia have been killed due to floods on Friday. The conditions are expected to worsen for some parts of the region over the weekend.

The town of Eugowra is the latest to be affected by fast-rising floodwaters. Some residents had to evacuate.

[John Athens, Emergency Service Volunteer]:
"Inundated the house, as far as we know, we got called 2:00 a.m. this morning, that is the last time we have seen the house."

In the town of Wagga Wagga, receding floodwaters allowed residents to begin clean-up work.

[Unidentified Woman]:
Very relieved to see there is no water left and hopefully thing will return to normal."

South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland have all been affected by heavy rain and swollen rivers. More rain is expected for parts of the eastern coast of Australia through the weekend.
