Thousand of tourists and locals were serenaded with holiday carols on Tuesday from performers Josh Groban, Sheryl Crow, Jessica Simpson and Charice.

Everyone was waiting for the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting in New York.

Singer Sheryl Crow chose Elvis' "Blue Christmas," in keeping with her latest album's theme "100 Miles From Memphis," released this summer.

Los Angeles native Josh Groban, who recently moved to New York, was thrilled to perform in Rockefeller Center.

[Josh Groban, Singer]:
"I just moved to New York, so to be part of Rockefeller Center now as a new New Yorker is very exciting because I've been watching the city from afar and I've been watching this special from afar since I was a kid, and so to be out here tonight and see so many thousands of people just here kind of beyond the holiday...They're just out here for this wonderful sense of togetherness and this incredible tree and some really great songs tonight, so yeah."

The best-selling artist recently released his fifth studio album "Illuminations," following the mega success of his holiday album "Noel".

Jessica Simpson also performed on the famous rink. She told Reuters that she would likely be splitting her holiday between Boston and Texas to be with fiancé Eric Johnson.

[Jessica Simpson, Singer]:
"Spending the holidays with my fiancé has been amazing. We had his family out for Thanksgiving and I think that we'll kind of just be traveling around. I mean, it's going to be a traveling kind of holiday season this year."

Charice Pempengco also took the stage. She has decided to return to the hit show Glee, but remains undecided about her holiday travel plans.
