En 1983 Christian Courtois annonçait à un groupe d’amis , son intention de créer une compagnie théâtrale.
Petit-fils de Jeanne Courtois-Sonveaux, déjà sur les planches du Théâtre Royal de Namur dans les années trente et le fils d’Aimé Courtois.
A l’heure ou nous écrivons ces lignes le THEATRE COURTOIS THEATRE FRANÇAIS a joué 180 représentations devant plus de 152.000 spectateurs.
Parmi celles-ci, citons : Macbeth de Shakespeare joué devant une salle comble au théâtre de Namur, Diable d’homme (16 fois), Namur, Cologne, Eupen, Dinant, Thuin, Thy-le-Château….
En 2003 Christian Courtois manifeste le désir de passer la main non sans le regret et l’insistance de l’ensemble des membres de l’ASBL.
Un nouveau conseil d’administration est donc élu, et le Théâtre Courtois - Théâtre Français qui ne changera pas de nom est depuis dirigé dans le même esprit « Courtois » par Liliane et Jean Pierre HURET.

In 2003 Christian Courtois feel the desire to hand, not without regret and the insistence of all members of the association.
A new board of directors is elected Courtois and the "Theatre Courtois - Theatre French" will not change of name and is motivated in the same spirit "Courtois" by Lilian and Jean-Pierre HURET.
