John James notices that whenever he talks to Josie she puts her thumb in her mouth, he thinks it might be because she gets nervous talking to him. Josie tells him that it's because she's afraid she's going to be hurt. He tells her she can't worry about that because she'll never have feelings for anyone if she keeps that attitude. Sam Pepper comes in and wants to know how John James deals with Josie's smokers breath. John James says he doesn't even notice it, then he elbows Josie in the head.
