There has been a dramatic rescue in Argentina as a three-year-old girl falls 75 ft down an abandoned irrigation well.
Firefighters and rescue crews rushed to the scene in a rural part of the province of Buenos Aires where young girl called Vanesa was trapped. The provincial governor, Daniel Scioli was on the scene working with rescue teams to devise the safest and quickest way to pull the young girl to safety.
As night fell, the race against the clock intensified as the temperature dropped and the tiny girl remained huddled up with unknown injuries.
After monitoring the status of Venesa using a fiber optic camera, rescuers finally decided to send a rope with a lasso type system to the girl in an effort to pull her up to safety.
Six and half hours later, just before midnight local time, Vanesa was hoisted to the surface from below and into the arms of her rescuers.
Vanesa, a bit confused, was quickly treated by a medical unit.
Doctors say she's expected to recover from what were described as minor injuries.
