The Banquet Hall at the Best Western in Oshawa was filled for the Families Against Radiation Exposure (FARE) presentation of Dr. Helen Caldicott. Caldicott, the founding President of Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Nuclear Policy Research Institute gave a presentation entitled "If You Love Port Hope"
In her presentation, Caldicott again suggested that residents of Port Hope move elsewhere because of contamination by low level radioactive waste. Caldicott also suggested that all nuclear power plants should be closed and went into great detail about the effects that radiation has on the human body.
Caldicott also suggested that Cameco be closed and that a class action lawsuit be launched against the federal government for what she calls "their criminal negligence".
