Greek Police Intercept Mail Bombs

Greek police have intercepted and destroyed three mail bombs, including one addressed to French President Sarkozy. One employee in the courier office has been injured.

High alert in Greece.

This after a mail bomb meant for French President Sarkozy was intercepted by Greek police and destroyed.

The streets are closed off around the courier office in Athens where the bomb was detected.

Authorities launched the investigation after another package exploded here earlier in the day, injuring one employee leaving light burns on her hands.

After the blast, police arrested two suspects in their early twenties, who were allegedly carrying mail bombs --- including the one intended for Sarkozy.

The other package was addressed to the Dutch embassy.

Police say the packages didn't contain a lethal amount of explosives but stopped short of commenting on a possible motive.

Greece has been rocked by a recent wave of bomb attacks, many of them used by leftist groups to target banks and politicians.
