Strictly success for Anne Widdecombe

Ann Widdecombe continues to reign supreme on Strictly Come Dancing and last night received rapturous applause for her rousing quick step.

Brandishing a feather boa, the former Tory MP took to the dancefloor with partner Anton Du Beke.

Widdecombe completed her routine with aplomb, despite grieving for her brother Malcolm who passed away earlier in the week.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood who last week scored Widdecombe one point, commented, "Your arm has a mind of its own, your timing was a nightmare, but you did at least dance."

The enthusiastic performance kept Widdecombe out of last place which this week went to magician Paul Daniels.

Meanwhile, former Coronation Street star Tina O-Brian was granted a free pass into next week's show after catching chicken pox from her daughter, although judges warned her that this could only happen once.
