The worst rainstorms in nearly 50 years have killed more than 150 people in southern China.

Torrential rains lasting a week have also left more than 200,000 people homeless on the island of Hainan, according to reports.

The area's provincial government website warns that more rains and strong winds are expected.

Heavy rains and flooding has also hit other areas of south-east Asia, including Indonesia and Vietnam.

The airport in a flooded Indonesian region has been reopened and debris cleared from roads to deliver aid to an area where more than 100 villagers have died and dozens are missing.

Meanwhile, severe flooding in central Vietnam has left at least 52 people dead with a further 21 still missing.
